Declan Harris became a tenant at FOURTEEN in October 2025 following the successful completion of his pupillage.
Declan has a growing practice across the full spectrum of family law. He has acted in multi-day fact-finding hearings, drafted advice in financial remedy proceedings, and is frequently instructed for final hearings. He appears regularly in the Family Court in private law children matters, Family Law Act applications, and financial disputes. He is experienced in managing cases involving allegations of domestic abuse and complex factual issues.
Before coming to the Bar, Declan worked as a special educational needs and disabilities teaching assistant at a primary school in London. He also worked internationally as a private tutor, teaching GCSE and A Level students.
Declan graduated from Durham University with first class honours in English Literature, before obtaining a distinction in his law conversion course. He completed the Bar Course with the Inns of Court College of Advocacy having received a scholarship from the Inner Temple.
During his legal training, Declan served as student director of the BPP Family Law Clinic, providing pro bono advice on a range of family law matters. He has also worked as a legal assistant at a London firm and undertook a twelve-week internship with the Ministry of Justice in the private law team.
Outside of law, Declan has a background in performance and previously appeared at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and toured Shakespeare productions in California.
