Declan joined FOURTEEN at the start of pupillage in October 2024.

Prior to pupillage, Declan worked as a special educational needs and disabilities teaching assistant at a London primary school. He also worked as a private tutor, travelling internationally to teach GCSE and A Level students.

Declan graduated from Durham University with first class honours in English Literature, before obtaining a distinction in his law conversion course. He then took the Bar Course with the Inns of Court College of Advocacy, during which time he was a scholar of the Inner Temple.

He was previously student director of the BPP Family Law Clinic, which provided pro bono advice on a range of family law matters. He has also worked as a legal assistant for a London-based firm, and completed a twelve-week internship with the Ministry of Justice in their private law team. When Declan was younger, he performed at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and also toured Shakespeare around California.
