Madeleine Whelan, FOURTEEN, analysis the recent case of F v G [2021] EWCA Civ 622 for Family Law Week. This article examines the flexibility of the Children Act when it comes to the co-existence of care orders and special guardianship orders. Madeleine looks at various aspects of the Children Act including s.14, s.33 and s.91 to explain how the Court of Appeal justify their decision that ultimately, care orders and SGOs can co-exist when a CO is made at the same time, or a CO is made following an SGO.
