  • Venue: The Bingham Room, Gray's Inn
  • Involving: Camille Habboo, Ranjit Singh, and Chris Stevenson
  • Cost: FREE

Fourteen held a public law update specifically for Local Authority lawyers on 24 June 2014.  The content of the seminar, in view of the reforms to family justice and case law developments in relation to deprivation of liberty safeguards, was specifically tailored to the demands of local authorities and provided a practical guide to case management.

Camille Habboo spoke on how to use mediation before, during and after public law proceedings, whilst Ranjit Singh and Chris Stevenson analysed the Supreme Court’s decision in P v Cheshire West and P&Q v Surrey County Council in relation to deprivation of liberty.  Dr Mike Shaw and Professor Judith Harwin spoke about the FDAC model and analysed how the use of this model has affected the outcomes of care proceedings.
